Fire Is Gold
in depth

Fire is Gold is an urban inspired festival that showcases Hip Hop, lifestyle, fashion and all the latest urban trends. The festival puts a lot of emphasis on experience and wanted to highlight all aspects of hip hop during the festival. Since graffiti is part of the roots, they contacted us to integrate this element in an original way.

We integrated the presence of graffiti in two different ways. The first part was an installation by none other than Odeith from Portugal. This graffiti legend made the flight to Belgium for the first time in his career to leave one of his anamorphic masterpieces at the festival. He was asked to incorporate the hip hop elements together with a letter piece of Fire Is Gold in his installation. A work that completely suited him since he is a huge hip hop fan himself.

Besides the installation, Wallin' was also on site with an interactive workshop. The roots of graffiti lie in tags and this is what this workshop was all about. An entire container had the audience to express themselves and leave their tag at the festival.

Are you also looking for an eye catcher for your event? An interactive activity? Wallin' is happy to see how we can provide your event with an added value that visitors will not easily forget.

About the
Artist

Odeith (PT)

Odeith is a Portuguese artist who has been in the graffiti scene for years and is sometimes called the anamorphic master. His first experiences were sketched on street walls and train tracks and so the passion he had always shown for drawing had a new purpose and he started to evolve. Early on the artist showed a particular interest in perspective and shadow, in an obscure style, which he later called "sombre 3D", where the compositions, landscapes or portraits, messages or homages, stood out for their realism and technique. Odeith was internationally recognised in 2005 for his pioneering incarnations of anamorphic art, distinguishing himself by his compositions in perspective and painted in different planes, such as 90º corners or from wall to floor, creating an optical illusion effect.

Abstract Session — How it all began

Abstract Sessions originated from a simple but bold question: what happens when you dedicate an entire wall to abstract art? Together with a diverse group of artists from across Europe, we brought colour, energy and experimentation together in a unique creative process.

Street art: the street belongs to everyone

Street art has long ceased to be merely "anti" or a paragon of anarchy. Today, thanks in part to this art form, the idea that public space belongs to everyone is alive.
