Bar Bricolage

Due to corona, Ghent's most famous summer bar had to close its doors for a long time. The energy and desire to reopen this summer was enormous! To emphasise the opening, Bar Bricolage wanted a colourful eyecather above their terrace.

None other than 'muscles from Brussels' artist Blancbec visited Bar Bricolage and helped to breathe new life into their urban jungle. Inspired by the post-industrial feel of the site, he served us one of his signature dishes of graphic delight

Enjoy a drink, great music, plenty of activities and a beautiful view at the Dokken's hottest hot spot all summer long.

About the
Artist

Blancbec (BE)

After spending ten years within the graffiti movement under the pseudo VEKS, he turned his work towards new approaches in the early 2000s. He then developed his first canvases with geometric writings inspired by graffiti. In 2002 he discovered the work of hand-painted and pasted posters in Barcelona, a revelation! This technique attracted him because he could combine studio work with urban activity. His own geometric construction and lively chromatic range create his recognisable style. Since then, bold protagonists have entered his world, which he continues to represent through new media and techniques.

Abstract Session — How it all began

Abstract Sessions originated from a simple but bold question: what happens when you dedicate an entire wall to abstract art? Together with a diverse group of artists from across Europe, we brought colour, energy and experimentation together in a unique creative process.

Street art: the street belongs to everyone

Street art has long ceased to be merely "anti" or a paragon of anarchy. Today, thanks in part to this art form, the idea that public space belongs to everyone is alive.
