Victoria Regiapark — Ciclope Art

In the heart of Gentbrugge, street art now takes center stage. The imposing warehouse wall overlooking the Victoria Regiapark has been transformed into a vibrant mural, thanks to internationally acclaimed Argentine painting duo Ciclope (Juli & Pili). This mural is not only a visual highlight but also a tribute to the neighborhood’s rich botanical heritage.

Inspired by the historic greenhouses of botanist Louis Van Houtte, the artwork tells the story of the Victoria Regia – a giant water lily that Van Houtte personally brought back from the Amazon to Gentbrugge. The mural also features subtle references to the azalea, a plant that gained international fame through cultivation in the greenhouses of Ghent.

This unique street art mural connects past and present, while enhancing the park’s green character and strengthening the bond within the community. The artwork was made possible with support from Wijkbudget Gent, in close collaboration with engaged local residents.

Planned For Demolition
