Urgent — OneBran

We first met artist OneBran in 2022, during a road trip around Athens. There, we discovered how he developed his geometric style in abandoned buildings scattered across the Greek landscape — places that strongly reminded us of the empty factories that once shaped the city of Ghent.

He showed us the beauty of forgotten spaces. And now, years later, we’re proud to see him leave his mark here, in our own city.

R-Gent is a playful nod to the name of Ghent, with the reversed ‘R’ symbolizing how the world often feels today: upside down. The loop on the left side of the letter subtly refers to the cyclical nature of things — how everything eventually comes full circle.

This mural was made possible thanks to the Ghent Neighborhood Budget for the Dampoort district. With this project, we aimed to give the busy Kasteellaan a fresh visual boost, while creating space for wonder in the everyday.

Planned For Demolition
