Guido Gezelle — Letterknecht

The year 2024 marked the 125th anniversary of Guido Gezelle's death. The Guido Gezelle Society and the heritage units Bruges, TERF and Zuidwest seized this moment to draw attention to Gezelle's lesser-known sides and sources of inspiration. In Roeselare, they wanted to do so by means of a mural in cooperation with the artist Letterknecht. The mural is based on a poem by Gezelle and brings his poetry to life in the streets in a contemporary way.

The mural is also a prelude to the International Poetry Festival that will take place in Roeselare at the end of November, where the same poem will take centre stage. Participation will also be targeted, with a moment for the youth of the reading jury. In this way, Gezelle's poetry is not only commemorated, but also shared and experienced by new generations.

Abstract Session — How it all began

Abstract Sessions originated from a simple but bold question: what happens when you dedicate an entire wall to abstract art? Together with a diverse group of artists from across Europe, we brought colour, energy and experimentation together in a unique creative process.

Street art: the street belongs to everyone

Street art has long ceased to be merely "anti" or a paragon of anarchy. Today, thanks in part to this art form, the idea that public space belongs to everyone is alive.
