Van der Valk Hotel Gent will open its doors in the spring of 2021. In order to have the infrastructure completely ready, Jansen The Building Company is busy to have everything in perfect working order.
In the meantime, they were looking for a creative way to make their presence clear on the site. For instance, they asked Wallin' to provide their site containers with an appropriate painting.
Artist Cee Pil, as an animal specialist, completely agreed with the mascot of the hotel chain Van der Valk; a Tukan. In order to visualise the collaboration between the 2 partners, he applied on the other side a tukan and parrot (with the red colours of Jansen) in his typical style.
The hotel is located 10 minutes from the city centre and has a view of the Ghelamco Arena. In total, the hotel consists of 10 floors with 263 rooms, a Skybar and a wellness area.

Artist
Cee Pil makes quality work at top speed, which makes it a pleasure to see him live somewhere. Through his experience in traditional painting and making hyper-realistic portraits of animals in particular, he is able to skillfully create this unique optical illusions. He combines several images with each other and achieves astonishing results every time.
