Fries in depth
Chips have been an important part of our culture. Therefore you can't love this golden yellow treasure. In order to put french fries in the spotlight, VLAM called the 'Week of the Frie' in life.
As a result of that fry week we were contacted by Walkie Talkie with the request for a famous Flemish street artist to provide them with a work. The Ghent artist Maarten Leenknecht made a work that can be seen from the Ajuinlei. In his typographic style he wrote 'Anja de laatste friet moet je mij nog schenken', a link to the song 'Anja' by Ghent singer and legend Luc De Vos.
The wall was officially unveiled on 29/11/2020, exactly six years after his death. We hope that this wall would have pleased him.
