B401: Bridge of the future
In depth

The city of Ghent asked us to paint a trompe l'oeil that sketches the future of the fly-over of the B401. The building project asked people from the neighbourhood what their ideas and suggestions were about the future of the fly-over.

We asked local artist Jamie Answord to sketch these ideas and the result was a very green future. A future where the bridge is surrounded by a green oasis and a car-free zone. The residents and the project leaders were very happy with the result. We now have to wait until this vision of the future is translated into reality...

About the
Artist

Jamie Answord (BE)

Jamie Answord leaves - often erotically tinted - miniature paintings behind on urban spaces. Using a spray can and finger painting, he creates very small works that often complement other graffiti works in legal zones or urban infrastructure. Perfect for small interventions! Also, this artist specialises in Trompe-l'oeil's in which nature can be found.
